The Myth (Stigma) about autism

Myth: People with autism are not capable of empathy and social relationships.

Reality: People with autism can experience and show empathy and strive for social interactions. However, they may have difficulty recognizing nonverbal cues and social norms, which can make communication difficult.

Myth: Autism is caused by poor parenting or social factors.

Reality: Autism is a neurobiological developmental disorder, and its causes are not related to upbringing or external factors. Scientific research points to genetic and environmental factors that may influence the development of autism.

Myth: Children grow out of autism.

Reality: Autism is a chronic condition, and although some people can develop skills and strategies that allow them to successfully manage their characteristics, this does not mean that they completely grow out of autism. Autism remains with a person throughout his life, but individuals can learn to adapt and develop.

Myth: All people with autism have special superpowers.

Reality: Although some people with autism may have special talents and skills in certain areas, this is not a universal property of autism. Every person with autism is unique and has their own individual abilities and interests.
